Ondo State Government was set to embark on the feeder road construction across the state.
Enginneer Gboye Adegbenro, the Commissioner for Works, said this at the site of Akure- Idanre Road inspection in Akure.
"In continuation of our road reconstruction and rehabilitation exercise across the state, we have concluded arrangement to commence operations in Akure-Idanre Road," he said.
He remarked that some failed portions of roads constructed by past administrations were not done according to approved standard while some necessary features were not put in place.
The commissioner expressed regret that some of these roads were politically motivated, hence the inability of past administrations to construct durable roads that would withstand the test of time.
He added that the exercise would be extended to other parts of the state.
" This ministry has embarked on what we call State Construction.
" This means that all other parts of roads that need attention will benefit from this construction.
"For instance, Oshinle and Oke Aro Road, Araromi Road, Danjuma Road; Odokoyi Road, Arakale Road all in Akure, the state capital and all other places that need urgent attention," he stated.
He expressed his delight at the level of work done so far at some failed parts of Okitipupa Road in Ondo South Senatorial District, adding that the road would be completed as scheduled and according to approved specifications.
