Sultan Urges Muslims To Look Out For New Moon

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar has urged Muslims in the country to look out for the new moon of the month of Jumada Ula.

"Sultanate Council of Sokoto wish to remind that Saturday March 1st equivalent to 29 Rabi'u Thani 1435 shall be the first day to look for the new moon of the lunar month of Jumada Ula", Spokesman of the Council, Yahaya M. Boyi, said yesterday in a statement.

The statement added that the council should be informed if the moon is sighted on the following phone numbers: 08037157100, 08035073872, 08039655007 and 08030413535
