In a bid to develop young talents and give them the platform to
showcase their God given talents to the world, a group, Rhealyz Naija,
at the weekend staged a talent hunt show in Akure the Ondo State
Capital.
The event which was to celebrate the yuletide session attracted both
young and old in the town, as well as friends and family members of
the contestants in the annual music contest.
According to the Head of the group, Ireti Adesida, the group works on
creating a platform to assist youths in the state to develop, maximise
and release their God given talents.
Adesida while stating the motive behind the annual talent hunt said
"In the recent times we have discovered that youths with great talents
increase in their numbers and therefore we are stepping out approach
to let the world know about these unsung heroes. We also want to give
them the platform to showcase themselves positively."
"Our objectives is to raise a group of young people that will be
optimistic about a better Nigeria, by helping them develop positive
mindsets in order to make positive impact to the society through
events like this" he said.
Highlights at the event were Red Carpet Session by Team CSI, Raffle
draw, Dance, Comedy and Music.
Crowd at the event were thrilled with the music competition which ten
participants took part after auditioning before the event and saw
three winners after a fair decision by the judges of the competition.
At the end of the contest, Olarinde Amoke was declared winner and she
was presented with a cash prize of N50,000 with certificate of
participation, while Akinmeye Bukunmi, the first runner-up got N20,000
with certificate of participation and the second runner-up, Ayodele
Abiola got N10,000 prize with certificate of participation.
Other contestants were also rewarded with N5,000 cash prize each as
consolation prizes with certificate of participation.
Also at the event, the group gave out customised school bags to the
less privileged and indigents students.
The project according to the organisers is to support and continue the
existing community development outreach by the group.
Speaking on behalf of the winners, Olarinde Amoke thanked God for
making them partaker of the contest and the enablement to be winners
among all the contestants. She also thanked the group for giving them
the platform to showcase their individual talents.
