FUTA  STUDENTS PROTEST

The students of the federal university of technology akure, trooped out in their multitude to protest against d death of their student union president, comrade Oladapo Awopegba aka D.P.O who lost his live along side other students on Friday 13th of july 2012.
   The ghastly motor accident occurred along Emure-ile on owo- Akure road on their way to Akure from Abuja where they have gone to attend an award ceremony organized by the national association of nigerian students NANS to eminent Nigerians, which claimed the iives of three student union presidents with several others injured.
  According to the students, comrade oladapo awopegba's death makes it the nineth death d school will record in the last three weeks, other students who lost their lives within the university community were said to have died mysteriously.
     The students want the authority of the school to do something about the occurring death within the school premises and also wants the federal government in conjunction with the state government to find a lasting solution to the bad akure owo road to avoid future occurrence of such.
 In his words the vice c, of the university, prof Biyi Daramola, says plans are going on among the authority of the school to give a befitting commendation service and a candle light procession to the late comrade, he appealed to the students to go back to their varrious hostels and continue to pray for the well being of the school, He prayed for the school and students that such calamity will not befall them again.
  Prof Biyi Daramola, however walked down with the students from futa junction to futa south gate singing solidarity songs in honuor of the late comrade
 The governor of ondo state, Dr olusegun mimiko commensurate with the authority, staff and students of the tertiary institution on the sudden departure of the number one student of the school, making it known that he died in active service and must not be forgotten. He said his plans will be communicated to the students in a short while.
    He said necessary measures will be taken on the issue of akure owo road to avoid such occurrence.
   Gov. Olusegun Mimiko who had earlier been to the federal medical centre owo to see the injured students receiving treatment there. He prayed for the families of the deceased that God in His mercy will give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.
