Ondo state government has warned school administrators in the state to desist from collecting an illegal money known as 'ebola fees' from their students.

The warning is coming on the heels of complains by parents who alleged that school principals, especially in public schools have directed them to pay a sum of 250 naira as  'ebola fees' for new students.

The Commissioner for Education, Jide Adejuyigbe who handed down the warning said government has not authorized any principal to collect any fees for ebola from students on resumption.

Adejuyigbe, who said government has put in place necessary safety measures as schools plan to resume, warned that any principal found collecting such money risk loosing his or her job.

Also speaking the Health Commissioner, Dr Dayo Adeyanju said all pro-active and preventive measures against ebola in the state have been free.

He said government will procure sanitisers, and infrared thermometer for temperature measurement as well as health education materials for schools on resumption all at no cost to school children.

The state ministry of education has however summoned all area education officers across the state to this effect.
