This was made known by the South West zone of the party in a communique issued at the end of its zonal caucus meeting and signed by the Director of Publicity, APC South West Zone, Ayo Afolabi.
The statement stated that "the Ekiti State governorship Election was far from being free and fair, high-tech rigging never seeing in this clime were introduced."
The party, which candidate and incumbent governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, lost to Mr Ayodele Fayose of the PDP, listed militarisation of the electoral process in the state, Ekiti State was factually sealed up to all non PDP personnel while" the squad of Musiliu Obanikoro, the Minister of State for Defence, Jelili Adesiyan, Minister of Police Affairs, Kasamu Buruji and Iyiola Omisore, had free days going in and out of Ekiti unmolested and ferrying suspected goods from Akure airport into Ekiti," as some of the reasons why the PDP won the election.
The party also added that "many APC leaders from different local governments and communities were arrested in the dead of the night before the election and were released without any charges brought against them, a lot of people who had earlier been accredited by the polling clerks were disfranchised for no justifiable reason, not known to the electoral law or the procedure of previous elections was the folding of ballot papers.
The APC, therefore, warned electorate in Osun State to observe the situation in Osun State where its candidate Rauf Aregbesola has been campaigning the good programmes of the party while his main opposition, Senator Iyiola Omisore on the other hand granting press interview around.
Meanwhile, the Publicity Secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South West, Mr Waheed Olatunde Lawal, said the allegation of scientific rigging in Ekiti is laughable.
He said "The allegation of scientific rigging of Ekiti goversnorship election against PDP by APC is not only laughable and childish but baseless, ungrounded and frivolous. This was a party that prides itself as progressive but lacks all democratic credentials. The APC should better look inward and purge itself of its arrogance, gross intellectual dishonesty and hypocritical tendencies. It's amazing that APC mischieviously fails to realise that you cannot full all the people all the time.
"It allowed history to repeat itself when all the AD governors were sacked in 2003 because of their anti-people policies particularly, their disconnect from the masses and unfriendliness with the civil servants. My advice is that the APC should take its defeat in Ekiti in good faith and get prepared to receive its death warrant in Osun, come august. If the allegation that the rigging was scientific, then, APC should also substantiate its argument by scientific proof. Aregbe is on his way out of the government house. As for Ajimobi, no jupiter can prevent his sack by the good people of Oyo State," Lawal stated
