Kano Commissioner For Agriculture Resigns

The membership of Kano State Executive Council was depleted on Thursday following the resignation of the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Baraka Sani from the cabinet.

Sani, however, did not give reasons for resigning from her position.

It was learnt through a reliable source that Sani threw in the towel on Wednesday following disagreement with the state Governor, Engr. Rabi'u Kwankwaso over selection of some candidates for the forthcoming local government election.

"The commissioner was not happy because the governor had refused to consider one of her candidates for the election in the state", the source said.

It would be recalled that the former Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Faruk Iya, resigned last November in protest against moves by Kwankwaso to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
