Jonathan gave me free publicity by mentioning my name over 50 times in 15 minutes – Kwankwaso

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State has replied President Goodluck Jonathan for accusing him of pocketing his campaign money during the 2011 presidential election.

Jonathan had during a rally in Kano on Tuesday accused the governor of frustrating his ambition by refusing to release the money he gave him for delegates from his state.

Apparently angered by Jonathan's submission, Kwankwaso stormed the venue the president used for his rally alongside his cabinet and swept his footprints away.

The Kano governor who lambasted a country's Commander-In-Chief for flying all over the country just hours after a major bomb blast in the capital city had killed several lives, mocked Jonathan for mentioning him over 50 times in a 15-minute address.

"At a time when several innocent lives have been lost, when many of the victims are in hospital seeking blood donations to survive, the president is gallivanting round the country in the name of PDP unity rally," Kwankwaso said.

"The man came to Kano to smear our image, but thank God, the man gave me free publicity by mentioning my name over 50 times in a 15-minute address," the governor stated.

"The President, his Vice and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation are vultures. They want the PDP to die so they can feed on its carcass," said Mr. Kwankwaso.

"If I decide to contest for the number one seat in this country, I will beg APC, APGA and Labour Party not to cast their votes for me. I want to assure you that, with the PDP vote that I will garner, definitely, I will defeat the incumbent president hands down," Kwankwaso boasted.
