‎Reactions have continued to trail creation of over thirty thousand polling units by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ahead of the 2015 general elections.

The latest of such is coming from the Yoruba Socio-cultural group, Afenifere, who described the action by the country's electoral body as a calculated move to rig the 2015 general election in the country.

Rising from a meeting in Akure, Ondo state capital, the group also called for the recommendations of the national conference to be subjected to a referendum, which would give birth to a new constitution for the country.

The creation of over thirty thousand additional polling units by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has continued to generate ripples in Nigeria's political setting, ahead of the 2015 General elections.

The Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, after rising from a meeting in Akure, ondo state capital, condemned the move by the nation's electoral body .

Spokesperson of Afenifere, yinka Odumakin and other leaders of the group, noted that, creation of polling units is a matter of number of registered voters in an area and should not be based on land mass or geographical distribution.

An elder statesman and delegate to the national conference, Olu falae, as well as former Governor of ogun state, Gbenga Daniel also said the only credible thing to do, is implementation of the recommendations of the conference through a referendum.

They also urged president Goodluck Jonathan to implement the decisions reached at the conference to give credibility to the conference.

As President Goodluck Jonathan has promised full implementation of recommendations of the national conference, the question is whether it will be subjected to a referendum or ratification by the national assembly.
