The National Association of Nigerian Students [NANS] humbly bring greetings from the National Secretariat, we hereby commend the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] towards their services for a better democracy.
We sincerely appreciate the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Ondo State, for organizing a "Stakeholders Forum" which Students and Youths were duly represented to sensitize Nigerians, especially Ondo state residents, on the distributions of Permanent Voters' Card [PVC] and Continuous Voters Registration Exercise.
It is really a plus on good Governance and Democracy. However, we want Nigerian Students, Youth and the entire public to note the following;
[1] SENSITIZATION ON INEC VOTERS REGISTRATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF PERMANENT VOTER CARD: Distribution of Permanent Voters Card in Ondo State will commence from Friday, 15th August 2014 to Sunday, 17th August, 2014.
Note: That the Permanent Voters' Card is very important. It is the only access to vote in 2015 and other elections.
* Distribution Time: Everyday between 8am - 5pm.
* Distribution will be at the polling unit you obtained the Temporary Voters' Card [TVC].
[2] CONTINUOUS VOTERS' REGITRATION Continuous Voters Registration Exercise will commence between Wednesday, 20th August, 2014 to Monday, 25th August, 2014. Dear Nigerian Students and Youths that have just turned 18 years or above 18 years, let's troop out in mass to get Registered. Our Voices MUST be heard.
We need better representation. In the course of our deliberation at the Stakeholders' Forum, it was concluded that Students of Tertiary Institutions who are currently writing exams or holidays have the privilege to collect his or her Permanent Voters' Card [PVC] at the INEC Local Government office where he or she had his or her Temporary Voters Card from. This privilege is opened till December, 2014.
