PDP orders reinstatement of Haruna Dabin as Plateau State Chairman

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ordered a reversal of the purported suspension of Plateau State Chairman of the party, Dr Haruna Dabin.

National Secretary of the party, Prof Wale Oladipo in a letter to the state chapter of the party urged those behind the suspension to act within the provision of the party's constitution.

The letter reads: "The NWC of our great party has received news of some controversy on the legality or otherwise of certain actions by some members of the Plateau State Executive Council of our party. For the avoidance of doubt, the NWC wish to refer all concerned to the provision of our constitution especially Article 57(7).

"The NWC hereby directs your good self (Dabin) as the state chairman to ensure that the Plateau State PDP remains respectful of the provisions of our constitution in this regard."

It added: "The NWC wish to emphasize that it is an offence under Article 58 (i) for any member to engage in unauthorized publicity of disputes within the party, obviously referring to the one-page advert published by the state chapter of the party to announce Dabin's suspension."

It would be recalled that the state chapter of the party recently suspended Dabin and also passed a vote of no confidence on him.

The chapter further directed his deputy, Chief Raymond Dabo to assume chairmanship in acting capacity.
Thanks
