Good morning! Here are ten things you need to know this morning:

1. Top on the news this morning is the attack launched on some police stations and military posts by Boko Haram militants in Borno state. Report says scores of people, including soldiers, policemen and members of a vigilante group were killed. The Defence Headquarters, in a release said that 53 of the insurgents were killed when security forces repelled the attacks, but admitted that 5 military men were killed in the attack.

2. As the recent military attack on BRT buses in Lagos continues to generate controversy, Human Right lawyer, Femi Falana and literary Doyen, Prof. Wole Soyinka have condemned the attack. In a separate statement, the duo lamented the action of the soldiers, calling on the Federal government to call the Army to order.

3. The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has accused the governorship candidate of the PDP,Senator Ayiola Omisore of using masked armed men as security guards. In a statement issued on Saturday by the APC party Director of Research, Publicity and Strategy, Mr. Kunle Oyatomi, the party said while security agencies were battling to free Nigeria from the grip of terrorists, the governorship candidate of the PDP in the state was encouraging terrorism by using masked 'terrorists' as his security guards in his campaign in Osun State.

Contrary to the statement by the Minister of Health, Prof. Chukwu Onyebuchi that the ongoing Doctors' strike will end on Monday, the NMA president, Dr. Kayode Obembe has debunked the claim, asserting that it was mere speculation for anyone to say the strike would be called off on Monday, He said the action would continue until a decision was reached to change the current situation.

5. Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has threatened to appeal the setting up of seven-man panel by the state Acting Chief Judge, Ambrose Mammadi, to investigate allegations of gross misconduct against him and his Deputy, Bala Ngilari. Nyako had made this known through the Director, Press and Public Affairs, Government House, Mr. Ahmad Sajoh.

6. The massive influx of northerners into the South is currently being probed by security men to ascertain the reason behind such movement. An unnamed security source has disclosed to journalists that information before them indicates that the aim was to increase the voting power of northerners in the South.

7. A report says men of the Ogun State Police Command are currently investigating an internet fraudster who hacked into the Ogun State Government owned mortgage bank, Gateway Savings and Loans Limited, and stole millions of Naira. Report says there was mass arrest of suspects yesterday in the state.

8. Over 20,000 applicants seeking to join the Nigerian Army, yesterday wrote their examination in an empty field and under the rain in Calabar, the cross Rivers state's capital. The examination held at the 13 Amphibious Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Calabar.

9. Another report says that even with the allegation that the Chief Judge of Adamawa State constituted the 7-man panel to investigate Adamawa state Governor, Murtala Nyako under gunpoint, soldiers have taken over entire area where the CJ's house is located to ensure total compliance to further directives on the impeachment saga.

10. Following the killing of over 200 people in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State after four days of attacks, last week, by alleged Fulani armed men, no fewer than 150,000 villagers have fled their villages. Report says cows and other livestock are seen roaming different villages as their owners have abandoned them out of fear of reprisal or further attacks
