A new Rector, Professor (Mrs) Olajumoke Bilesanmi Awosederu, has been appointed for Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
At the reception for the new Rector last week, Senator Biyi Durojaiye, an indigene of the town, solicited the support of stakeholders and indigenes of the town for the new Rector, while urging students of the institution to maintain orderliness within the institution.
He explained that though the new Rector felt very reluctant to accept the appointment, he had to persuade her with the assurance that both students and staff would cooperate with her.
In her response, the new Rector, Professor (Mrs) Awoderu, called for the cooperation of both the staff and students, asking them to always opt for dialogue.
In his vote of thanks, chairman, Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics, Mr Banwo Oluyomi, assured the new Rector of the support of the academic and non academic staff of the institution.
