I won’t impose candidates -Fayose

Ekiti State Governor-Elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has said he will not impose any aspirant on the Peoples Democratic Party for elections.

He stated this during a meeting with aspirants to legislative and local government elective positions in Ado Ekiti on Monday.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor-elect told the aspirants that the party would screen them before they could be allowed to participate in the elections.

He urged all aspirants not to bribe any party leader because such would not help them.

Fayose also warned that the party would not hesitate to sanction any erring member, who remained in the party to destroy it, adding that his government would ensure that members benefitted before the expiration of his tenure.

He added that his administration would provide an enabling environment for the people to promote themselves and the party to achieve stability and success.

The state chairman of the party, Mr. Makanjuola Ogundipe, at the meeting, thanked President Goodluck Jonathan and the party's National Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, for supporting the party to win in the last election.

He said Ekiti PDP would soon become a model in terms of discipline and good governance.

One time Education Minister, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, who was at the meeting, called for support of the party members and people of Ekiti State for the governor-elect so that he would perform better than the outgoing administration
