Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adetunji Orisalade, has urged Muslims to imbibe the teachings of Prophet Mohammed during the Ramadan, and to fast and pray for the sustainable peace.

Orisalade in a statement by his Special Assistant, Media, Mr. Taiwo Oluwaleye, on Monday urged them to use the Ramadan period to seek God and give alms to the needy as this will ensure that their prayers were answered.

The Lawmaker who condemned the incessant blood-letting by the Boko Haram sect in the North, assured that with fastings, prayers and good conducts, everlasting peace will return to troubled areas in the country.

Meanwhile, Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fatih Society of Nigeria has urged Muslims to continue to show love to others during and after Ramadan to promote peace and harmony.

National Missioner of NASFAT, Oyo-Alaafin branch, Qasim Olore, said this at the Ramadan lecture organised by the Ado-Ekiti branch, titled, 'The life history of Prophet Muhammed and his personality as a role model to mankind'.

He said, "A man must be committed to the service to humanity before he could be regarded as useful in the society.

"A man must be responsible to his family, show love to his wife by supporting and encouraging her. Our wives must be respected and not turned to slaves."

Olore urged women in return to be loyal and obedient to their husbands for the future of their children.
