According to reports, 18 out of the 24 members of the House voted for his impeachment.
Before carrying out the impeachment, the members lifted the impeachment of three members of the house who were on suspension.
The three members are Frank Onwe, Eni Uduma Chime and deputy speaker, Blaise Orji.
Right after being re-instated, Frank Onwe moved the motion for the Speaker's impeachment which was seconded by the minority leader, Enyi C. Enyi.
Thereafter, Eni Uduma Chima representing Afikpo South West moved the motion for election of Helen Nwaobasi representing Abakaliki South state constituency.
The motion was seconded by Jerry Obasi
