Court sacks Maigari, NFF executive committee

A Plateau State High Court has sacked the Aminu Maigari-led Nigeria Football Federation board.

The court granted an Order of Interlocutory Injunction, restraining Maigari who is the NFF president, the executive committee memvers and th NFF Congress, from continuing to run the affairs of football in the country, until the Motion on Notice before the court is determined.

Justice P.L. Lot also ruled that senior members of the civil service in the NFF command, to command, control and manage the affairs of football.

The Sports Minister and Chairman of National Sports Commission Dr. Tammy Danagogo, following this order, has appointed Lawrence Longyir Katken as the acting Secretary General of the NFF.

"Further to suit No. PLD/J 342/2014 and an order of mandatory injunction, issuing from Hon. Justice PL Lot…you (Lawrence Katiken) is hereby directed to act as Secretary General of the NFF, and to take over the full management of the NFF," he said in a letter personally signed by the minister to Katken.

"You are to hold this position pending the hearing and determination of the Motion on Notice in the referenced suit".

Justice Lot has fixed July 11, 2014 for hearing on the Motion on Notice
