Adamawa State Acting Governor, Ahmadu Fintri, has taken a swipe on those who say that the House collected money to remove the former State Governor, Murtala Nyako, from office, insisting that the former Governor defrauded the state.

The Acting Governor was in the Presidential Villa to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan at Abuja, and said that he had visited the Villa to give details on the situation in the state.

He told State House correspondents after the meeting that everything was not about money and challenged those who made the allegation to come up with evidences to prove it.

Ahmadu Fintri said that he was currently engaged in confidence building which had been eroded under the leadership of Murtala Nyako, who he said destroyed the infrastructure and morale of Adamawa people.

The former governor was impeached on Tuesday by the lawmakers after reviewing the report of a panel of inquiry set up to investigate the allegations of financial impropriety against him and his deputy.

The impeachment notice, signed by 19 of the 25 state lawmakers, listed 20 impeachable offences against them. There was also an accusation of extra-budgetary expenditure of over N390 million as overhead cost from January 2013 to December 2013, among other allegations.
