Chairman of the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Roqueeb Adeniji, has stated that there was no automatic ticket for Governor Ibikunle Amosun and other aspirants for elective offices in the 2015 general elections.

He spoke during a reception organised in Abeokuta by the Ogun Central Senatorial District of the party for the new state executive committee members of the party.

The chairman said APC will not impose any candidate, assuring that all aspirants would be subjected to transparent and credible primaries.

"The party has resolved to allow a level playing field for all aspirants. Both Amosun as the governor and the party stalwarts have no anointed candidates for any of the elective positions," he added.

Adeniji assured that every aspirant would be allowed to go for primaries and that whoever emerges for any position will be fielded as candidate in the general elections.

Also speaking, an APC chieftain, Chief Doja Adewolu, said the party elders were already working towards resolving the internal wrangling in the state chapter of the party.

He expressed gratitude to APC members for keeping faith with the party leadership and the Amosun-led administration in the state.

He said: "Since the conduct of the party's ward, local and state congresses as well as the inauguration, there has never been an opportunity for the elected state party executive members to say 'Thank you'."

"This rally is to publicly present state exco members to party loyalists to enable them familiarise with themselves and other members of the party.

"Secondly, to re-assure party loyalists that Ogun APC has not and will never lose its firm grip of the state politics as being championed by opposition political parties in their propaganda that they will take over the state from the ruling APC and Amosun.

"There is no cause for alarm. Come 2015, Amosun will be re-elected for another term of office and that other members of both the state and National Assembly on the platform of APC would win elections," the chieftain concluded
