TEDxAkure is a TEDx event that brings the greatest innovators, thinkers and doers together in Akure to share ideas worth spreading. It is a constellation of figures who have contributed tangible, significant, and measurable values that are visible enough to inspire the audience to replicate their unique success streaks.
TEDxAkure is a self-organized branded TEDx event following the format of the TED conference. TEDx events are locally organized events held by independent organizers.
The TED conferences have been described by Bill Gates as "the ultimate brain spa" and "a four-day journey into the future" and the outcomes have resulted in: swift contacts with uncommon realities; spark of confidence to pursue and achieve what really matters; and a determination that cannot be hindered by fleeting distractions. Some of the notable speakers include: Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Frank Gehry, Paul Simon, Sir Richard Branson, Philippe Starck and Bono. Hence, to achieve our goal, a combination of live speakers and TEDTalks videos will be used to spark deep discussions and connection.
The TEDx brand is an international one and several TEDx events are organized across the world yearly. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. For more specific details, you may learn more at:

TEDxAkure is an event focused on creating an opportunity to share the best ideas from our local community that educates, and inspires the audience and enable their potential.
Our audience is a unique and diverse one with participants selected from universities, corporate employees, academics, government officials, and entrepreneurs.
TEDxAkure, in its second year, is a free event and we aim to continue to drive our audience into action through our passionate exemplary speakers. Our goal is that our speakers will inspire creativity, share mind-shifting stories, and engage their physical and virtual audience in ways that every individual deserves.
Our theme this year is ''Pursuit of Happiness''.
Our focus is on transforming the way people ''Dream, Act, Succeed and Share". Our theme was inspired by a clause that highlights that persistency, focus, hard work and diligence and that anyone through all these can attain fulfillment and satisfaction in life.
We will host 500 individuals at our TEDx event and another 2,000 individuals in attendance via our event's live streaming platform. Talks from the event would also be recorded and posted on the TEDx official YouTube channel and TED.com (which has a global audience of 1 billion views).
TEDxkids and TEDxAkure will be held on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th April, 2014.

TEDxAkure and TEDxKids@Akure will be broadcast live over the internet to over five million (5,000,000) viewers globally. Our live events are essentially a live simulcast of TEDxAkure and TEDxKids@Akure. All talks at the TEDxAkure and TEDxKids@Akure event will be broadcast live to all the live event locations via a live stream internet channel. We the (TEDxAkure and TEDxKids@Akure Team) expect that innovative discussions will also take place across all live viewing locations, with emphasis on feedback.
