NEMA's Director General, Mr. Sani Sidi made the call on Tuesday during a press briefing at its headquarters in Abuja.
Sidi said that the number of injured persons as a result of the blast had risen to 133, as against 124, which it announced on Monday.
"I will like to further call on our fellow citizens to visit the following hospitals and donate blood which is needed for the assistance of the wounded persons."
He added that one of the injured victims involved in the bomb blast died Tuesday morning.
Sidi said, "The casualty figure was 71 dead and 133 persons injured. A report received from one of the hospitals this morning confirmed the loss of one more life bringing the total to 72 deaths."
Sidi disclosed that some of the victims were still in critical condition, while some others had been stabilised.
The NEMA boss said, "Our information desk is working 24 hours to attend to any complaint and enquiries that family members will have about their loved ones. Appropriate arrangement is also being made by the hospitals and other relevant organisations for families of those that lost their loved ones to claim their remains.
"I assure everyone of the full compliance with the presidential directives on the medical treatment of the injured persons."
Sidi outlined the hospitals to include Asokoro General Hospital, Maitama District Hospital, Wuse General Hospital, Garki Hospital, National Hospital, Nyanya Hospital, Nigeria Customs Service Staff Clinic, Abuja Clinic, Nasarawa State Medical Centre, and the Pan Raff Hospital Nyanya.
He also noted that families could reach the agency by calling its information desk on 09-290577, stressing that some victims had been identified while some others were yet to be identified.
Sidi said, "The families of the identified victims have been contacted, but we have not been able to contact the families of those that have not been identified.
"I call upon everyone to be extra-vigilant and report all suspicious elements to security agencies and render maximum support to emergency responders."
