In an Interview with Ekiti Decides, the state chairman of Social Democratic Party(SDP) bares his mind on lots of issues concerning the forthcoming governorship election in Ekiti, the present state of governance in the state and othr sundry matters.

While starting with what the party stands for, Evang Ayo Adekola said that SDP is a party that has been synonymous with the masses in the country, it's a party that has been in the fore front of providing, good governance, eradicating poverty and so much believed in Local government autonomy.

He said " to move forward, we have to deal with local government autonomy because that is the closest level of government to the grassroots" He also commented on the issue of Alhaji Musa Ayeni being the candidate of the party in the forthcoming election stating categorically that Musa Ayeni is just posting his posters and he is not the party candidate as he has not met any of the criteria required to be considered as an aspirant on the platform of the party but said that the party would take a stand on its consensus arrangement and present a candidate within the next few days who is certainly going to come from the south senatorial district as the party has decided to give the zone an opportunity to produce the next Governor of the state being the only senatorial district that has not produced a governor since the return to democracy.

While commenting on the state of governance in the state, Evang Adekola said that the Fayemi led administration is running on deficit having to borrow money from the capital market to expedite capital projects that has no economic value to the state or the people of the state, saying why should a responsible government borrow money to build a pavilion or borrow money to build a house on the rock when majority of the masses live in abject poverty, stating that never in the history of this state has any government taking so much security vote like this present government has done and yet we have no security challenge or war that we are fighting that necessitates the government to spend so much on security vote alone.

While stating that if SDP gets into the power, the party is going to pursue all the agenda stated in its manifesto to letter, leaving nothing out of it, saying and SDP led government would reduce the cost of tertiary education by 35percent , the party would clothe all pupils of public schools in both primary and secondary schools and the youths would be rightly empowered.

He asked the people of the state to support SDP and vote for SDP in the forthcoming election as the party is ready to effect the change the people are yearning and ready to give them a purposeful leadership.
